The present investigation contributes to studies on mining intervention strategies through development programs focused on communities. In particular, programs aimed at the development of communities within the area of influence of mining projects related to the generation or promotion of capacities and establishment of companies and/or cooperatives were highlighted. Although there are multiple types of development programs, this investigation seeks to emphasize the case of programs aimed at women in communities, in particular those referring to the promotion of women's empowerment. The argument of this thesis is based on the presumption that the programs for communal business development and strengthening of productive capacities are implemented by mining companies with the aim of legitimizing mining intervention in the area by building ties with the women of the communities through empowerment developed on the basis of economic activities. Therefore, the main objective of this investigation is to analyze the influence of business development programs in promoting the empowerment of women from communities within the area of influence of mining projects. Regarding the literature review for the construction of the Theoretical Framework, three thematic fields are highlighted: territorial dynamics and articulation with the company and the market; mining intervention strategies and stakeholder participation and the empowerment approach.
