The project “El giro“ is a fictional short film that arises from the experience of one of the members of the group. In this line, it seeks to make visible one of the most common types of corruption in the country, which includes the police spheres and is manifested through bribery in the transportation system. The story revolves around corruption on two levels, encompassing the police system and the ordinary citizen. In this sense, the characters are part of a context where the abuse of power is “rewarded“ and a lifestyle based on the premise of getting away with it. This research paper details the process of this audiovisual project, from the idea and audiovisual references, to the proposals for the realization of each area involved. The structure for the narration of the short film arises in two moments: the police maintain power and the status quo - the student turns the role of power around and seeks to take advantage of it. Therefore, the audiovisual language sticks to it, without the intention of empathizing with any of the characters, presenting the scenarios and moving away little by little, according to the revelation of corruption. With this, the viewer will be able to develop a critical and reflective look, regarding the action of the characters in relation to power and corruption, both on a personal and social level.
