No obstante,
The present study aims to analyze the role of flow conditions in the relationship between passion and the well-being of athletes from team sports. For this, 156 formal and semiformal sports players of both sexes, whose ages ranges from 18 y 59 years (M=23.72, DE=5.83) were evaluated. For that purpose, the Flourishing and Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) (Diener et al., 2010), the Passion Scale towards sport (Vallerand et al., 2003) and the Flow State Scale (Jackson and Marsh, 1996) were administered in person and in a single moment. The results showed highly significant positive relationship between flourishing, positive affects, harmonious passion and proximal conditions of flow. Nevertheless, contrary to what was expected, direct relationship of obsessive passion with flourishing and positive affects were found, although they were small. In addition, regression models were performed for each component of wellbeing, finding that harmonious passion and clear goals explain 39% of the variability of flourishing. While harmonious passion and sex explained 23% of positive affects. In the case of negative affects, a significant model was not found. Finally, significant differences were observed in the variables according to certain demographic characteristic of the participants and of sport practice. These finding confirm the adaptive role played by harmonious passion in the sports context but also invites to question the role of obsessive passion, since the present study shows adaptive outcomes, contrary to what the literature of “Dualistic Model of Passion” exposes
