The Historic Centre of Lima (CHL for its acronym in Spanish) is a place of cultural, historical, social, commercial and economic relevance in Peru. During the last decades, a considerable part of its historical-architectural heritage has been affected because of several factors like the lack of knowledge of its value and its low diffusion in educational spaces. Given this situation, many efforts and projects are being made for its recuperation and reassessment, for example, the Master Plan of the Historic Centre of Lima (PMCHL for its acronym in Spanish). Nevertheless, on many occasions its execution seems not to be entirely sufficient. Jiron de la Union is one of the most important places in the monumental area of the city. Over time, this street has undergone different transformations, currently becoming a mostly commercial area , where many historic buildings are occupied by establishments of diverse categories creating an invisibility of the architectonic heritage in citizens. Facing this situation, the digital platform “Jironeando“ is developed, which objective is contributing to reassessment of the Jiron de la Union architectural heritage through multimedia design having an informative website like main piece linked to social networks. “Jironeando” uses interactive resources that respond to the need to innovate the researching, education and communication of heritage. The project allows the creation of a learning space about the buildings and provides to citizens information about these in a playful and interactive way so they understand their historical and cultural importance. The value and contribution of the project was recognized by PROLIMA being selected in the II National Research Call organised by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
