The purpose of this research is to make a comparison of health behaviors and adaptation to university life among students who are in the first four and last three cycles of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering (FCI) of a private university in Metropolitan Lima. For this study, 104 students participated, aged between 18 and 27 years. To measure health behaviors, the Lifestyles Questionnaire for university students CEVJU-Peru (Chau & Saravia, 2016) was used, and for adaptation to university life, the Spanish version of the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ- 50) (Rodríguez et al, 2012) was used. The results indicate that there are no significant differences in relation to academic level, except in the control of substance consumption, where greater control of substances was found in first-year students than in seniors (t=2.25, p < .05). On the other hand, different correlations were found between both study variables. The dimensions that present the highest correlations are free time management and sleep organization. Also, it was found that the female students presented greater care in eating than the males. Finally, it was found that the older the study cycle, the less control in substance use. Clarifications of these results, methodological difficulties and future research directions are proposed.
