This is a study on a business solution to deal with a social problem in Peru, more specifically, business informality. According to a report of the Informal Production and Employment in Peru (National Institute of Statistics and Informatics [INEI], 2021, p. 27), the informal sector generated 17.7% of nominal GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2020 and a 75.3% of jobs, trading activity was one of the productive units that involved more informality. Therefore, this solution focuses on the trade sector, particularly the auto repair shops in Metropolitan Lima. The solution lies on a mobile application called “SOS CARS“ which will list auto repair shops where their services will be offered. The customer will be able to select the auto repair shop via GPS location and schedule their appointments at the most convenient time. SOS CARS is an ingenious solution as it offers a new easy, safe, and digital way to get services from formal businesses for light vehicles. SOS CARS is socially sustainable as it creates formal jobs by payroll employment including social benefits. In addition, these shops would contribute to the state through taxes and increasing public investment. Finally, it is feasible both financially and socially. It would start with an investment of S/160,000, increasing its annual flows in a 5-year projection, generating an economic NPV (Net Present Value) of S/2,318,035. Likewise, the social NPV that the project would generate sums up to S/19,018,370.
