Context: Nearly one million people get a sexually transmitted infection every day. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards the human papillomavirus in adolescents of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade of secondary school at the I.E. Romeo Luna Victoria school. 2022. Methodology: The study has a quantitative approach of non-experimental design, correlational type with a cross-sectional section. The data collection technique was the survey and as an instrument two questionnaires developed for the research and validated by expert judgment were used. The sample consisted of 90 students. Results: The majority were 15-16 years old (60%), male (51.1%), currently have a partner (81.1%) and have had more than one sexual partner (84.4%). The level of general knowledge was medium (60%) and attitudes towards HPV were regular (62.2%). The relationship between knowledge and attitudes was .346 (p<.001). Conclusion: Knowledge and attitudes towards HPV are significantly related and considering that knowledge can improve in the long term, it will lead to an improvement in attitudes towards HPV.
