In recent decades, oil consumption in the transport sector has grown faster than in any other sector. Transportation represents 11% of greenhouse gas emissions, and 40% of energy consumption is applied to transport in Peru. Faced with this reality, renewable energy sources are playing an important role in counteracting the environmental impact of traditional energy sources. Therefore, between 2012 and 2014, in the framework of the international negotiations on climate change, Peru developed the CC Plan to define technical and scientific bases that incorporate climate change in the planning of the country's development. This plan estimated that two of the options with the greatest capacity to reduce emissions were the introduction of light hybrid vehicles and the introduction of light electric vehicles, which would reduce CO2 emissions by 113 million tons in the case of hybrids and 138 million tons for the electric, between the years 2015 and 2050. According to the COES, in Peru the generation of energy from non-conventional renewable sources (solar panels, wind energy, among other forms), reaches 5.06% of the total annual production, so that the entire approach it must consider the sources of energy to keep consistency with a State policy that transcends the automotive sector and seeks to modernize the energy matrix and the benefits are really tangible. For this reason in this research document we want to contribute to the search for a sustainable means of transport, which eliminates dependence on hydrocarbons and respects the environment, in this sense our research leads us on the road of electric vehicles. This new car model proposes the use of electricity as an energy source, managing to reduce CO2 emissions and seeking the participation of renewable energy in the process. allows us to quickly investigate aspects of the vehicle, such as the power of the engine, the type and size of the battery, the weight, etc., and see how the changes made can contribute to the environment taking a tour at a lower cost without affecting performance and distance traveled. However, the cost of implementing the project may lead us to consider the convenience of this solution. This requires a careful analysis of all factors: prices of recharges, cost of batteries, etc. that is why in this investigation we will make comparisons of the cost of maintenance and fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine vehicle against the maintenance costs of a converted electric vehicle. On the other hand it is very important to have the help of the government to promote the use of electric vehicles in our fleet through the implementation of a bonus that encourages the demand for this type of technology friendly to the environment. The benefits to which this entails are important in economic, social and environmental terms, improving air quality reduces the incidence of respiratory diseases and medical expenses.
