This research used recycled rubber from car tires to improve the characteristics and properties of the flexible pavement, specifically at the level of the granular base, with the main objective of stabilizing the base of the investigated material to minimize the degradation of the pavement, as a result of the loads of service to which all pavement is subjected, such as traffic loads, permanent loads, among others. Applied for a road in Northern Peru. The objective of this research was to improve the properties of the granular base of the strata of a road in northern Peru, by correlating the impact generated by the addition of recyclable shredded rubber fiber, obtained from recycled car tires, which were found in a disposable state. For the development of the research, soil mechanics tests were carried out on the natural samples obtained through borings, while another group of samples was added to the recycled rubber shredded from automobile tires, to later submit them to soil mechanics tests and thus obtain data on the behavior of the proposed design in order to finally compare it with the results of the natural soil. Soil mechanics tests were carried out to determine the ideal percentage and dosage for the addition of rubber fiber, working with percentages of 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%. The results were obtained based on the standard tests (granulometry, Atterberg limits, modified Proctor, CBR) both for the natural sample without addition, as well as for the samples modified in the laboratory using synthetic rubber fibers obtained from the shredding of recycled tires. The results served to demonstrate that the correlation between costs and quantities of rubber applied to the sample are positive.
