ABSTRACT The idea arises because the Anhembi Morumbi University, is undergoing an accelerated process of growth of foreign exchange students, therefore, there is a lack of places of residence near the university that cover the needs of housing, recreation and study, And the existing ones are scarce, not supplying the current needs of students, so that the proposal of a university residence for the Anhembi Morumbi University would solve this problem that foreign exchange students currently face. The natural light is variable, complicated to control and sometimes difficult to drive in the space where it is necessary in the quantity and quality desired, so it lacks adequate lighting environments and with the ideal comfort for the different activities to develop. In the approach of the thesis it is wanted to achieve an integral environmental design in which the natural illumination acts in the most appropriate way to achieve a luminous comfort, focusing on study spaces. So to investigate the natural lighting systems to know which should be used strategically. The design proposal will seek to achieve adequate interior lighting according to the requirement of the activity to be performed within the space, plus the need to control and regulate possible excess light and heat, by means of solar protection systems that avoid direct incidence of the sun, or mechanisms of darkening for the high luminosity of the exterior, or to give users the freedom to adjust the level of luminosity. The project will be based on innovative trends, focusing on an aesthetic, functional and accessible milestone for all.
