The present research work aims to reduce the operating costs of the company Steelwork Engineers, through the proposal to improve the logistics process. The current situation of said company and the operations associated to the logistic process are shown, then points to be corrected or improved to optimize their costs and increase the company's profits. The research begins with a theoretical framework on the management of inventories to determine the costs of inventories, which allow understanding the content of the report, then a description is made about the organization of the company, internal processes within which we focus on the logistic process and it is established that the areas of study are from the purchase of materials until the delivery of the projects to the clients in accordance with the requirements and agreed deadlines. Likewise, the current relationship with suppliers is addressed and a new purchasing process is proposed. The diagnosis of the problems found in the logistics area allows to find the main causes that cause high operating costs. These causes derive in improvement proposals, among the main ones we can mention the Material Requirement Planning, to reduce the immobilized stock, the Management with suppliers, the scheduling of the delivery of projects, through the MS Project and the new process of purchases that allows to reduce the delay in the order and supply of materials. The overall proposals aim to reduce operating costs by S /. 91,308 per year, with a total investment of S /. 27.181.60. Finally, the economic analysis of the proposals allows concluding that they are profitable generating a VAN= S /.19,681.87, TIR = 52.70%, B / C= 1.07 and a PRI of =3.48 years.
