The present study compares the learning styles in secondary level students of the rural and urban area of the province of Chota - 2018, showing and explaining the learning style that predominates in these. Having as general objective to determine the differences of the learning styles of students of fourth and fifth grade of secondary level in the rural and urban area of the province of Chota. There was a sample of 62 (46.3%) students from rural areas and 62 (46.3%) students from urban areas between 14 and 18 years old. The instrument used was the Learning Styles Questionnaire of Felder and Silverman (1998), which made some modifications to adapt it to the province of Chota. The statistics that were used were the test of kolmogorov - Smirnov to determine the normality, in which p <0.05 was obtained, for which a nonparametric statistic was used and the Mann-Whitney U, used to find the differences of the learning styles by area and the degree of significance that it has. In this investigation it was concluded that when identifying the difference of learning styles in the fourth and fifth grade students of secondary level there are no significant differences (p <0.05) between the rural and urban area of the province of Chota, then we can say that rural and urban education can be different but learning styles do not vary.
