The case study was carried out in the C. P. “Cerrillo” - Los Baños del Inca. Knowing that water is an essential factor in the quality of life, this project was developed with the objective of providing a proposal for improvement in the process of purification of the spring water of said locality. The methodology used was based on a compilation of similar research; Likewise, a physical-chemical and microbiological evaluation of the water was considered at three monitoring points, corresponding to point No. 1 water catchment, point No. 2 reservoir and point No. 3 home network. For the evaluation of the parameters, the Regulation of the Quality of Water for Human Consumption D.S. N ° 031 - 2010 - SA DIGESA. Obtaining as a result that the physical - chemical values were within the established regulation; However, regarding the microbiological parameters, the concentration of Total Coliforms exceeded the Maximum Permissible Limit in point No. 1: Uptake. Concluding that the water at point N ° 1 is contaminated, for which an alternative was proposed for its improvement, which is based on disinfection with Calcium Hypochlorite and additionally, cleaning and maintenance of the catchment is recommended.
