ABSTRACT This paper describes the analysis, diagnosis, and proposed improvements in the supplying process of a steel manufacturing company, which has a high percentage of positioning in its category nationally described. Process improvement aims to increase the timely delivery of materials and spare parts for the operation of the company through the implementation of continuous improvement model PDCA also improves the quality of service and customer satisfaction. This improvement must be continuous as it seeks the overall improvement of the company and the performance of their processes. In the analysis of the most important problems of supply process, it was diagnosed that there is delay in delivery of the supplier and analyst further delay in placing purchase orders. In the first case it was proposed to work with approved suppliers, the application of penalties for late delivery of materials and suppliers quarterly assessment was also considered. Regarding the second case, it is proposed to perform procedures and operating standards for routine purchasing analysts, allowing to make improvements in the process and the aforementioned improvements. After the systematic ordering of the analysis of causes and approach and application of improvement proposals according to the PHVA methodology, the average punctuality indicator increased from 66% in 2015 to an average of 80% in 2016, reaching a peak of 89% In December, in addition to the improvement in the result of the satisfaction survey of the Supplies area, from 49% reported in 2015 to 63% favorable in 2016. The activities proposed in the improvement are not independent of each other, on the contrary, a synergy between them is achieved that allows the best use of resources and the increase of punctuality of delivery of materials for the operation, which translates into the Internal customer satisfaction, increased productivity for the company.
