The investigation objective is to improve the Preventive – Corrective Maintenance Management System in order to achieve an inherent availability improvement for gastronomic equipment for a Mining Company Food Plant. It was developed under a qualitative, non-experimental, correlational transversal methodology approach, with direct observation and checklist as data collection instruments. The diagnostics shows for the January – June 2019 period that 99 of maintenances tasks were corrective type and 70 from 169 preventive maintenance were done, and the overall inherent availability was 89.06% with 99 failures which produce a loss of 5332 operative hours. The results show that 26 of the 28 gastronomic equipment evaluated, 26 were catalogued with high critical level (C1) and 2 as semi-critical level (C2). An improvement plan was implanted to activate a preventive plant to inspect, check, adjust and clean the equipment; the work procedures were actualized; and a maintenance chronogram. As conclusion, the implemented plan success improves the overall performance, reduces de failures from 4 to 1 or 2, the TTR was reduced from 190.43 an 18.18 hours (average), the operation time increase from 1549.77 to 1721.82 hours/semester and the inherent availability increase until 98.96% (average). The economic evaluation settle that de plan is feasible with an NPV of S/. 98,505.97 and an IRR of 53%.
