SUMMARY The objective of this investigation was to determine the orientation of the exploration of the Granada - La Libertad prospect, based on the multivariate and variographic analysis of its economic and associated elements; located in Huamachuco - La Libertad. The study was conducted on 1002 samples, 995 samples from diamond drill holes and 7 samples from surface outcrops. For this purpose, statistical tools, multivariate analysis and geostatistical variography were used. The dendrogram obtained from “cluster analysis“ on multivariable data showed four “clusters“, being the most important the “chalcophile cluster“, which includes the following elements: Cu, Au, Mo, Ba, Co, Ni, W and K2O, where Au and K2O show the highest affinity, which means that Au is associated with potassium alteration. Additionally, variographic analysis of the main chemical elements indicates a clear mineralization trend in the NWW-SEE direction, which was corroborated with field observations: hydrothermal breccia and alterations, and veins. Therefore, it is recommended to carry out geophysical exploration and perforation campaigns to confirm a possible extension of the mineralization in Granada prospect in direction to Cerro Santa Rosa. Keywords: Variogram, trend of mineralization, statistical tools and geostatistics, dendogram, “cluster analysis“
