ABSTRACT Nowadays, one of the most challenging problems facing most mining companies in our country is related to the vibrations caused by rock blasting; the causes can generate annoyance and damage both in population and structures of the mining operation. In this context, this thesis has as main objective find the maximum operative load to get a level of vibrations to far field generated by blasting, within the parameters established in Minera Cerro Negro S.A. The research is based on the amount of explosive detonated per bore and on the detonation sequence that determine the amount of explosive detonated in an instant or Operative Load, according to the Load design. For vibration monitoring in the study area, consider data such as the operant load and the dynamic characteristics or ground attenuation laws according to Devine and Duvall's Far Field model. As a result of finding the maximum operative load, the vibrations obtained by the modeling for the operational phase do not affect the stability condition of the surrounding structures, even for the most critical case (radius of influence to the structures is 1000 meters of distance). The values obtained for the highest operating load of 864 kg equivalent to three coupled bores, generate a vibration of 2.99 mm/s at a distance of 780m; the vibration level is considered under the parameters established by the German Standard DIN 4150 which suggests up to a speed of 3 mm/s and according to Peruvian Vibration Standards (Environmental Guide for drilling and blasting), it suggests up to a speed of 1 in/s to jobs which have a special sensitivity, such as the structures surrounding the Cerro Negro Minera SA Finally, a limiting distance and the number of coupled bores are recommended, so that the maximum detonating operating load does not exceed the level of vibration according to the predictive model at the vibration thresholds proposed by the Standard used.
