The purpose of this project is based on the proposal for improvement the finned tanks manufacturing process that serves as containers for the electrical transformers, manufactured by the company Ingeniería Metal Mecánica Sarmiento S.A.C. (IMMECS S.A.C.) located in Lima city, Peru. This proposal consists in using a manual finning machine that allows generate an appropriate finning of the steel sheets that are used as a basis for the manufacture of the same, and that this work is done by the same operators of the company and not by third parties as have been doing, allowing thus, the streamlining and optimization in its production lines, increasing its profit margin and reducing downtime due to external productions. An IMMECS S.A.C. study situation was prepared in this way, to determine the use feasibility of the above-mentioned resource. The work consists of five chapters: Introduction, which focuses on the background and the problematic reality, as well as the justifications of the project; Theoretical Framework, with definitions and continuous improvement methodology proposal; Development, where the organization and evolution of tank production are thoroughly studied; and finally, the results, conclusions and recommendations are exposed.
