ABSTRACT The objective of the present study is to present the design of the deepening through a sloping shaft to which to serve for the extraction of the ore and dismantle the mining unit “Los Pircos“. The material was extracted from the lower level that has as dimension Nv. 1950 towards the Nv. 2000, once the material is at the upper level, a turning system will be designed for which the transport will be faster and less important for the curves, the material will be taken to a surface by a locomotive and U35 mining cars. In the first place, the characteristics and properties of the rock mass will be presented, which will not be used to determine if the rock supports the parameters of the section for the development of the project. Secondly, we focus on the design of the extraction system, which includes: the mining car U35 to be used for transport, inclined picket design (parameters), the design of the station, the work cycle of the lift and the calculation of the motor capacity of the electric winch that is going to be needed. The third stage consists in the operational planning of the extraction system, where the necessary resources were determined and detailed, as well as the sequences of the work cycles for the different activities are described. Finally, we will present a general economic evaluation of the deepening project, which considers the estimated costs of the operation, the value of the mineral tested.
