The research aims to determine the level of knowledge about complementary feeding in mothers with children from 6 to 24 months in a health center in San Martin de Porres during the month of December 2020. Methodology: The study has a quantitative approach, descriptive type and longitudinal design. The population was made up of 118 mothers. The technique used was the survey and the instrument a questionnaire, which was validated by expert judgment and reached a level of reliability through Cronbach's Alpha of 0.847. Results: For the mothers' level of knowledge about complementary feeding, it was obtained that 81.4% (96) presented a medium level and 18.6% (22) a high level. Regarding the information dimension on complementary feeding, 93.2% (110) of mothers presented a medium level and 6.8% a high level; Regarding the dimension characteristics of complementary foods, 86.4% (102) mothers have a medium level and 13.6% (16) a high level; Regarding the types of food dimension, 75.4% (89) mothers presented a medium level and 24.6% (29) obtained a high level. In relation to sociodemographic data, the prevailing age in mothers was 20 to 24 years old with 32.20%, and 25 to 29 years old with 29.66%; At the educational level, the majority of mothers have secondary education with 54.24%; and as an occupation, a large percentage are housewives with 55.08%. Finally, it is concluded that the more knowledge mothers present about complementary feeding, the greater the benefit for their youngest children in terms of their growth and development.
