Objective: To determine the relationship between anxiety and academic procrastination in university students of health sciences at a Private University, Lima 2022. Materials and methods: correlational study of a cross-sectional model. The sample consisted of 73 university students, selected through sampling. The main variables were: Academic procrastination and anxiety, measured by the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA) and the Zung Anxiety Self-Assessment Scale (EAA). Results: Of the sample regarding anxiety levels, 79.5% presented a normal level of anxiety and 20.5% presented a mild level of anxiety. Regarding the levels of academic procrastination, 35.6% presented a low level of procrastination, 43.8% presented a medium level and finally 20.5% presented a high level of procrastination. In turn, the research presented a high significant relationship, with a correlation coefficient of 0.909 between anxiety and the academic self-regulation dimension, in the same way it presented a strong significant relationship, with a correlation coefficient of 0.660 between anxiety and academic self-regulation. dimension of academic postponement. Likewise, there is evidence of a significant relationship between academic procrastination and anxiety, with a correlation coefficient of 0.842. Conclusions: When postponing their academic activities, health sciences students experience higher levels of anxiety. For this reason, we mention that it is necessary to encourage health science professionals to create programs that allow them to develop strategies that result in the academic field to prevent procrastination and put anxiety control techniques into practice.
