ABSTRACT The manufacture of hoppers of the company RMB SATECI S.A.C. It presents a variability in its production process, having a waste of material and demanded expenses in terms of correcting errors. The main objective of this research was to identify the main causes of this variability to propose an improvement in the production process and increase the quality of the product and thus avoid economic losses for the company, supporting us with the application of the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology , the sigma calculation found before the improvement was 1.26 sigma with a processing capacity (Cp) of 0.42 and a process capacity index (Cpk) of -0.08. The main causes that affected the variability, was in the painting area where the company is proposed to manufacture a shot blasting cabin that will also function as an isolated area of the painting process. With the application of the DMAIC methodology (define, measure, analyze, improve and control), it was determined that to improve the quality and avoid economic losses, a blasting cabin would have to be implemented. Projecting our new data we obtained a sigma of 2.36 with a Process Capacity (Cp) of = 0.54 and a process capacity index (Cpk) of = 0.30 which indicates a considerable improvement.
