The investigation was carried out in a branch for the sale of machinery and spare parts, where an inventory planning was implemented to determine its influence on the level of service. For the investigation, an interview was conducted with the administrator where he mentioned that he had noticed losses in sales when products were not available, and that this was also affecting his future sales since customers who had experienced a lack of availability of products did not return and they stop trusting not only in the company but also in the brand and its presence in Cajamarca. By analyzing of inventory, it was possible to identify continuous breakages of stocks in some products and high levels of inventory in others, despite having records of past demand had no future projections, the products were not classified and they did not have inventory policies on how much to order and when, this could be directly affecting the availability of the products and with this the level of service. As a solution measure, an inventory planning was implemented that included the use of multicriteria inventory classification, forecasts, economic amount of probabilistic order and reorder point. With the implementation, the influence that inventory planning had on the service level (product availability) was tested during the months of January to May 2019 in the materials classified as type A. The investigation was able to corroborate that the planning of inventories It influences the level of service, improving it from 92% to 98%.
