The demands of the local health and environment are becoming increasingly complex, innovative, competitive and above all are among the largest consumers of energy. The need for continued use 365 days a year, 24 hours, and comfort requirements and specific medical services, becomes a highly intensive architectural typology. Sustainable measures implemented in hospitals and health units worldwide so far, are the result of the realization that the excessive use of non-renewable energy and natural resources are being depleted and are also changing the environment; however, are still few, little known and more recently applied in our institution. So we must understand how to Sustainable Hospital who care, diagnose and treat patients through the use of smart technologies, greater respect for natural resources and application of renewable and selfsufficient practices. In other words, create a healthy hospital, economically viable and sensitive to environmental and needs of the community. The display of the environmental, economic and social benefits must implement sustainable strategies in hospitals, in addition to knowing the features, systems, procedures and materials that make a sustainable hospital from architectural structure to the management of resources and waste, to achieve that the environmental impact is minimal. To understand in a better way what sustainability means, let us first define the UN, the Brundtland Commission in 1987 as “Sustainable Development“ Is that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. At present, the health sector in the district of Piura - Piura, is a range of contrasts in terms of the different energy problems and complications. The global climate system is undergoing an alteration associated with anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases and water pollution caused by industries and use of non-renewable energy. The current energy model has proven unsustainable for that reason it is necessary to take advantage of new forms of existing energy. In this regard, the need to implement strategies to ensure the improvement of the hospital network in Piura and thereby José Cayetano Heredia Hospital, with a commitment to streamline processes and provide improved energy requirements in order to influence favorably hospital on the thermal quality of the environment.
