ABSTRACT The present work of thesis is to examine the influence of the structural systems, Dual and Walls of Limited Ductility, in the seismic resistance for a building of multifamily housing of 7 floors in “Urb. Pre-urbana Huertos de Naranjal Mz. D Lt. 10”, district of San Martín de Porres. The buildings have a total built area of 295 m2, free surface 38.63 m2 and the land is 400 m2. A linear and non-linear analysis was performed to know the performance of the structures in the event of an earthquake. The first chapter describes the approach to the problem in which the problematic reality of the research is detailed, as well as the formulation of the problems, objectives, justification and the limitation of this thesis. In addition, in the second chapter, the theoretical bases for the present evaluation of this thesis are shown, here it is mentioned the conceptual part for the necessary structural analyzes. The third chapter is the hypothesis of the investigation that is later verified in the conclusions. In the fourth chapter, the research is described, which includes the necessary calculations for the subsequent structural analysis of the results between the Dual system and the Limited Ductility Walls system. Chapter five results obtained from previous calculations made. Finally, chapters six and seven contain the conclusions and recommendations respectively. All of the above stated that the system with Limited Ductility Walls has a better structural performance with respect to the Dual system.
