ABSTRACT International Financial Reporting Standards are standard guidelines governing the accounting treatment of various transactions and can be applied to different types of activity; that is why today, the known International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium Enterprises (IFRS for SMEs) that have been created considering that these companies have simple transactions exist as well. IFRS are extremely important, as currently internationally has promoted the approval of existing standards and therefore, more and more countries have adopted the use of the same. For everyone involved in accounting is a prerequisite stay updated on these existing standards as well as changes arising from the entry into force of new rules; constant research is necessary, reading cases and interpretations that facilitate the understanding of complex transactions, plus analysis application in each record for them, be in line with IFRS, besides compliance requirements under local accounting policies which are subject entities. The joint study had imperfect financial statements, especially in the fixed asset account, such as the estimate of costs, improvements, maintenance, assembly, deteriorating, residual value and depreciation, the inventories were detected errors in its valuation in the case of desmedros, breakage losses, discounts, freight, short and over, which gave reason to change other equity accounts and the income statement, especially in expenses, the company manages to relevant and reliable information to be complete for decision-making, the adoption of IFRS for SMEs, has allowed the reasonableness of the accounts of goods because the cost of products, the impairment loss treatment have generated the accounting treatment solution for the presentation of the financial situation and the cost of the items discussed in this research. The message is that if there is omission of important data distort information in the financial statements is why we should use the IFRS for SMEs in small and medium enterprises, with purposes for the presentation of financial statements.
