Nomofobia y autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa privada de San Martín de Porres

Abstract

La elaboración del presente estudio es motivada por la observación del uso excesivo que tienen los estudiantes de secundaria entorno al uso de los dispositivos móviles, por ello se evalúa la relación entre la nomofobia y autoestima. El tipo de muestreo fue no probabilístico y la muestra estuvo conformada por 210 alumnos entre 12 y 17 años todos pertenecientes a una Institución Educativa Privada de San Martin de Porres. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicó como instrumento de medición el Cuestionario de experiencias relacionadas con el móvil (CERM) y la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Tienen como dimensiones conflictos, uso comunicacional y emocional, autoestima positiva y autoestima negativa. Los resultados hallados muestran que existe una relación significativa e inversa entre ambas variables estudiadas en la muestra con un coeficiente de correlación de Spearman, un valor de Rho de -.250 y con un valor de significancia p<.000**, lo que quiere decir que a mayor nomofobia exista se relacionará con menor autoestima. Se concluyó con la existencia de una relación significativa e inversa entre la variable nomofobia y autoestima.

The elaboration of this study is motivated by the observation of the excessive use that have high school students around the use of mobile devices, so evaluates the relationship between nomophobia and self-esteem. The type of sampling was non-probabilistic and the sample was made up for 210 students between 12 and 17 years old all belonging to a private Educational Institution in San Martin de Porres district. For data collection, the Questionnaire of Mobile-Related Experiences (CERM) and the Scale of Rosenberg's self-esteem were applied as measurement instruments. They have as dimensions conflicts, communication use and Emotional, positive self-esteem and negative self-esteem. The results found show that there is a significant and inverse relationship between both variables studied in the sample whit a Spearman correlation coefficient, a Rho value of -.250 and a significance value of p<.000**, which means that the more nomophobia there is, the lower the self-esteem. It was concluded whit the existence of a significant and inverse relationship between the variable nomophobia and self-esteem.
