This research work entitled “INFLUENCE OF THE CHANGE OF THE NORM E.030 / 2006 TO THE RULE E.030 / 2018 IN THE STRUCTURAL RESPONSE OF A MULTI-FAMILY BUILDING OF THE SURQUILLO DISTRICT“ the main objective of this thesis was to determine how it influences the update of the norm E.030 / 2006 to the norm E.030 / 2018 in the structural answer of a multifamily building, located in the district of Surquillo. This thesis is composed of eight chapters. In chapter I, the description of the problematic reality of our country, the natural events that left information for the update of the seismic design regulations and the need to be prepared for future seismic events were made, given that IGP (2017) affirms that in the central region of the western edge of Peru it has been identified that there is a seismic lagoon that is accumulating energy since 1746, from which the formulation of the problem is deduced, based on this we set out the objectives and hypotheses of the investigation , whose sustenance will be reflected in the justification and limitations of the investigation. In chapter II, the background of the research work carried out that relates and sustains the present investigation is presented, then the theoretical bases that were taken into account for the development of the project are developed, and finally the definition of basic terms is made . In chapter III, the variables involved in the research and the operationalization of the same are presented, the typology of the research is presented and which is to be a quantitative investigation based on what was taught by Hernández, Fernández and Baptista (2016). Quantitative research is one in which the phenomena that are observed or measured without being affected by the researched one, the design of the research is presented, as well as the study material and the techniques and instruments used. In chapter IV, the development of the research is presented in which a description of the case study was considered, the static and dynamic analysis of the building was carried out based on the regulations in which it was designed and the new regulations in force , since the In MVCS (2018) indicates that the seismic design standard in Chapter 8 states that the structures designed by earthquakes must be evaluated, repaired and reinforced in order to correct possible structural defects. In chapter V, the results obtained in the development of the research are presented, the variations in which they present the shear forces, drifts of mezzanine and the design forces in structural elements are observed. In chapter VI, the conclusions obtained from a study of the results found are presented, these conclusions are presented based on each study objective formulated. In chapter VII, the basis for the analysis is presented the main recommendations made during the development of the research. As a result, it was obtained that the analysis with the E.030 / 2018 standard has higher values than the E.030 / 2006 norm, in the shear forces of between floors it was obtained that these are greater by 85%, in between floors drifts are greater in 12% and in forces in structural elements the plate values are greater equal to 45% in axial forces, 56% in shear forces and 58% in bending moments, in larger columns equal to 24% in axial forces and 51% in bending moments and in the beam there are greater increases equal to 9% in shear forces and 10% in bending moments. Concluding that the change of the norm significantly influences the structural response of the building, increasing the shear forces of the between floors, in between floors drifts and forces in structural elements are exceeded.
