The purpose of this thesis is to establish the relationship exercised by the Work Motivation and the retention of human talent of the Pacific Life Insurance Company of the city of Trujillo-2017, for which the survey was used as a data collection technique, which allowed obtain first-hand information on the needs and expectations of the employees of the Pacific Insurance Company during the study period and as an instrument, a questionnaire was considered to evaluate the work motivation and another on retention of human talent.As a procedure, the correlational design was used, because it seeks to establish the relationship of variables measured in a sample, in a single moment of time. This design is used because it will allow to identify the relationship between the two variables, determining if the labor motivation influences the retention of human talent. The results indicate that when relating the level of selection of work motivation with the retention of human talent, a high level of retention of human talent is reported in the group with high work motivation in the 78.57% of the workers of the Company. Pacífico Seguro Vida, on the other hand, when there is a low level of work motivation, 80% of workers rated the retention of human talent as low. Thus, when applying the Chi square test (x2 = 20.98), a significant relationship was found between both variables (p <0.001).
