The main objective presented in the investigation is to determine the improvement of the CBR of a clayey soil with sodium chloride. For the development of the present investigation, the sample was extracted from a clay bank located in the center of Santa Bárbara district of Baños del Inca, Cajamarca province, Cajamarca region, then this soil was analyzed and tested in the laboratory of the Universidad Privada del Norte of Cajamarca. To determine the improvement of the clay soil added sodium chloride the following tests were carried out: moisture content, granulometry, specific gravity, Atterberg Limits, Modified Proctor and california bearing radius (CBR), these tests were applied for the standard sample as well as for the addition of the percentages (14%, 16% and 18%) of sodium chloride. At the end of the thesis it was possible to determine the improvement of the CBR of a clayey soil with sodium chloride, thus affirming the proposed hypothesis since the CBR of a clayey soil improves up to 20% when adding percentages between 14% and 18% of chloride. sodium. In general terms, the CBR index for 0.1 “varies 44.44% of the standard sample, for 0.2“ the CBR varies 29.90% of the standard sample. Specifying that there is an improvement of the CBR obtaining the following results: for a CBR to 0.1 “: in the standard sample a CBR of 4.05%, in percentage of 14% of NaCI a CBR of 5.02%, added 16% of NaCI a CBR of 4.45% and increasing 18% of NaCl a CBR of 5.85% is obtained. For a CBR to 0.2 “the obtained results is that in the standard sample a CBR of 4.85% is obtained, added 14% of NaCl a CBR of 5.82% is obtained, in a percentage of 16% of NaCl a CBR of 6.1% is obtained , and increasing 18% of NaCl, a CBR of 6.30% is obtained.
