The consumer gets carried away by what he or she experiences when acquiring a service or product. This is called marketing of experiences or emotional marketing, a concept that encompasses five modules: sensations, feelings, thoughts, actions and relationships. Each module is studied in depth with clients. The general objective of this research was to determine the level of perception of experiential marketing in a private university in the city of Cajamarca in 2019. The methodology was transactional or transversal: descriptive. The target audience was made up of 6604 students of regular level at the university, obtaining a study sample of 363 students. The results showed that Private University students have a 79 % average level of perception about the marketing of experiences offered by the university. Another relevant result was obtained by applying the emotion curve technique, which allowed us to know where the university has to work so that its clients (students) have a better experience and thus have positive emotions regarding the service.
