The poor intake of fats and sugars increases the accumulation of fat in pregnant women, influencing their weight excessively and can lead to risks during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the relationship between eating habits and weight gain in pregnant women in the second trimester of the Centro Médico Santa Fe del Sur - Lurín in 2021. The design was cross-Sectional, observational and correlational, the population was a convenience sample of 76 pregnant women in the second trimester, using a questionnaire and the perinatal card. In addition, a questionnaire and the perinatal card were used. As a result, it was found that the mean age was 26.55±6.626 years, 59% of the respondents were cohabitants and 51.3% were housewives. In addition, 53.9% of the pregnant women had inadequate habits and 46.1% had adequate habits. The weight gain of the pregnant women with normal pregestational BMI, overweight and obesity was 67.1% with a high gain, 23.7% with an adequate gain and 9.2% with a low gain. Regarding eating habits and weight gain, 43.4% of the women had high weight gain and inadequate eating habits and 15.8% had adequate weight and habits, showing that there is a significant relationship between both variables of the study.
