Digital literacy is undergoing great changes and today it continues to implement in its learning the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in this study what is sought is to know how it is being carried out in Latin American students in the last years 2015-2020. The sources of information chosen were the magazines Scielo, Redalyc, Ebsco and ProQuest. Inclusion was defined by answering questions about the evolution of digital literacy and the result of the use of ICT in academic development. The purpose of the study is to know the implementation of ICT in academic development. A previous investigation was carried out in 34 magazines, from which we took a total of 21 that solved our research questions, finding that Colombia, unlike other countries on the continent, aims to be the best educated country by 2025. We were presented with some limitations given by the scarce information in the years of research and by alternate effects such as the availability of our times and different points of view as students. The conclusions indicate that even today there are limitations on the part of teachers in the implementation of ICT tools, this due to the lack of interest of the schools themselves in changing their traditional model.
