This report has the purpose to explain how the current design of infographics published in the newspaper “ La Industria “ of Trujillo, Peru, in 2013 has helped –as a journalistic tool- to consolidate a favorable perception of this medium in the reading public. It was made an study on the characteristics of the style, visual language and writing language of a group of infographics published the first quarter of 2013 at the page “Infografía” and the supplement “Emprendedores“, published the final quarter of the year. It was applied a survey to a sample of 370 people between 16-60 years of age to know their point of view about the impact of the infographics in their perception of the media analized. The data obtained allowed to conclude that the current design of infographics published in the newspaper industry itself contributes Trujillo, as a journalistic tool, to build a favorable public perception in the reader. The data obtained indicated that people in the sample, mostly say that infographics an important element of today's journalism. That is, they emphasize that it makes easier understanding of the news, emphasizing the importance of graphics.
