The objective of this study is to implement an occupational health and safety management system based on Law 29783 to reduce accidents in the company AUTOMOTRIZ Y MAQUINARIAS INGENIEROS S.R.L. Initially, a diagnosis of the current situation of the occupational health and safety system was made, by evaluating a compliance check list (baseline) established by RM 005-2013-TR, obtaining a percentage of 8.37%, classifying to the system as not acceptable. Likewise, a documentary review of the occurrence of accidents was carried out, determining the frequency and severity indicators, to obtain the accident rate indicator of 58.79%. Based on our situational analysis, the design and implementation of the system was carried out and it was determined that compliance with the regulations improved to 100%, therefore the accident rate indicator was reduced to 0%, showing the inversely proportional relationship between the occurrence of accidents and the guidelines required by the regulations. Finally, the cost-benefit analysis was obtained as result 5.15 indicating that the project must be accepted since it generates greater benefits for the company, taking care of the life and health of the worker compared to the investment involved in the implementation of the Safety Management System and Occupational Health.
