Metal Industry HVA. S.R.L is a company focused on the field of maintenance of concentrator plants, crushing, maintenance of heavy machinery, manufacture of metal structures and recovery and manufacture of components in its workshop Maestranza The main objective of the research was to design a lean manufacturing model to improve the pin production process in the area of the metal industry HVA SRL, where the value flow mapping (VSM) was made, identifying problems such as: unnecessary transport, inappropriate processes, waiting times, defects and reprocessing; which determined the need for the implementation of lean manufacturing tools such as: 5's to improve and maintain order and cleanliness in the work area, kaizen distribution event so that the operator can make use of the other machines and avoid long transports, poke yoke reduce human errors and improve the quality of the product, reducing costs due to defects and reprocessing, allowing to manufacture quality pins in the first attempt and Autonomous Maintenance, to prevent and measure the accelerated deterioration of the equipment, the implementation of check list for each machine and a procedure manual. On the other hand, it was also proposed to purchase raw material with minimum tolerances and more exact than those of the finish, in addition to implementing a training program for operators. The results showed that the implementation of the tools presented an improvement in compliance for the production of pins. This is so that by means of the VSM analysis the values for TVA of 357 min, TVNA of 59 minutes were obtained, giving a total time of 416 minutes of production, which evidences a reduction in times, since when making the initial diagnosis the values were for TVA of 492 minutes, for TVNA 113 minutes resulting in a total time of 605 minutes which meant that a total of 189 minutes was reduced relative to the production in general. For the tool POKA YOKE presented a 0% compliance for not being used, through its implementation the awareness of the staff was generated in a 100% compliance. Likewise, regarding the Kaizen distribution event, a 0% compliance was obtained because it was not implemented, after its implementation 100% compliance was achieved, reducing unnecessary transport. To measure the overall efficiency of the equipment, the TPM tool was used, achieving 88% efficiency in the machine under study. In terms of order and cleanliness, the 5S tool was implemented, where results were obtained by means of a verification checklist, giving us 94% compliance. Finally, the elaboration of the design of a Lean Manufacturing model reduced the production and rework times in the manufacturing of pins with a total of 189 minutes, in the same way the compliance of the tools was verified by means of the supervisor to enhance and conserve the improvement model established at 100%.
