The purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of nitrate removal with a bioadsorbent based on Moringa oleifera Lam seeds in the surface waters of the lower Chillón River basin - Puente Piedra Lima District, Peru 2023. An initial characterization was carried out, where We obtained initial physicochemical parameters hydrogen potential (pH) 6.5, nitrate 36.8 mg/L and turbidity 23.7 NTU, these parameters were used as indicators. For the study, an applied, explanatory research was carried out with a pure experimental design. The 32 factor analysis was carried out, where there are 3 factors and 2 levels (high and low). As a factor we have the potential of hydrogen pH (5 and 8), Dose (1 and 2 gr) and Time (20' and 40' min), where 8 experimental treatments were carried out with duplicate and were analyzed in the Minitab program version 2019, in which the P value ≤ 0.05 was determined, the alternative hypothesis is accepted where the factors (pH, dose and time) significantly influence the performance of nitrate removal by applying Moringa seeds. oleifera Lam as a bioadsorbent, where it was possible to remove from 36.8 to 9.81 mg/L. of nitrate and a percentage of 73.32% with a hydrogen potential pH of 8, with the dose of 1g and a time of 20 minutes. It is concluded that Moringa Oleifera Lam seed as a bioadsorbent has a significant performance in the removal of nitrate from the surface water of the lower basin of the Chillón River, becoming a sustainable, low-cost and eco-friendly alternative unlike absorbent chemical products.
