The present study was carried out to determine the influence of financial leverage on the profitability of an agro-industrial company in the district of Santiago de Cao, La Libertad during the period 2010 to 2019. It used a quantitative approach, applied type, Descriptive Level - correlational, causal and a non-experimental-longitudinal design, for the sample the financial statements of an agro-industrial company were used, during the period 2010 to 2019, the information was extracted from secondary sources of public order that are found on the website of the Superintendency of Markets and Securities and the Lima Stock Exchange and SUNAT. The main results were the Pearson correlation coefficient equal to 0.445 points, and the level of significance found is 0.000, for the relationship of the variables; with 95% confidence, being less than the p value 0.000<(α)=0.05; Regarding the relationship between short-term leverage and profitability, the correlation was low positive, with a coefficient of 0.344 points, and the level of significance found is 0.000; long-term leverage and dependent variable profitability; with 95% confidence, being less than the p value 0.000<0.05; it presents a low positive correlation, in this sense the Ho is rejected and the Ha is accepted; likewise, the correlation is equal to 0.543 and a significance level of 0.000; long-term leverage and dependent variable profitability; finally, the correlation coefficient of indebtedness and profitability is equal to 0.229 and a significance level of 0.000, being less than the p value 0.000 < 0.05. It was possible to determine that financial leverage does influence the profitability of an agribusiness company, during the period 2010 to 2019, with a Pearson coefficient of 0.445 and a parametric value through the Durbin-Watson coefficient of 0.434; which shows that the values are located outside the range and that the residuals are dependent. The company does leverage itself to obtain better results, as evidenced in the ratios, the average leverage was 40%.
