Abstract: RESUMEN
Casullo (2002) quien se basó en los planteamientos sobre el bienestar psicológico de Riff (Riff, 1989;
fueron (Aceptación de sí mismo y la ansiedad estado (rs = -,306) y ansiedad rasgo (rs = -,311);
Situaciones del bienestar psicológico y la ansiedad estado (rs = -,287) y ansiedad rasgo (rs = -,472);

ABSTRACT The present study of descriptive correlational research aimed to determine the relationship between psychological well - being and trait - state anxiety in 161 students of a national university in the north of the country of the second, fourth, sixth and eighth cycles, selected under probabilistic sampling stratified with design Descriptive. BIEPS - A questionnaires were used to measure the level of psychological well - being, a questionnaire developed by Casullo (2002), which was based on Riff 's psychological well - being approaches (Riff, 1989; Riff & Singer, 1995). A brief tool to evaluate this construct; Which determines that psychological well-being is conformed by four dimensions: acceptance / control of situations, autonomy, social ties and projects, and IDARE to assess the level of anxiety: Trait and State, adapted by Spielberg based on Ryff's theory, The anxiety scale was designed by Spielberger, Gorsuch and Lushene (1970), (IDARE version in Castilian). Composed of two State and Trait scales. Likewise, the Spearman correlation test was used for hypothesis analysis and the results showed that there is an inverse, moderate and statistically significant correlation between psychological well-being and state-trait anxiety; This means that, for high levels of psychological well-being, there is a lower probability of episodic, momentary and permanent anxiety, if it is the case with low levels of psychological well-being, it can also be said that these two variables have an inverse relationship Proportional, the results we obtained in correlations in the dimensions of psychological well-being were (Self-acceptance and state anxiety (rs = -, 306) and trait anxiety (rs = -, 311); Psychosocial links and state anxiety (Rs = -, 289) and trait anxiety (rs = -, 399); Situational control of psychological well-being and state anxiety (rs = -, 287) and trait anxiety (rs = -, 472); On the other hand the descriptive results show that nursing students have a perception of their psychological well-being low and high levels of anxiety and that both are going to have an anxiety state (rs = -, 193) and trait anxiety (rs = -, 366) Are significantly correlated; Which indicatates that the subjects who have a high well-being are those that experience satisfaction with the life, in which predominates a positive valuation of its vital circumstances; Often their mood is good and only occasionally they experience unpleasant emotions. On the other hand, subjects with low welfare would be those who value most of their vital events as harmful and negative. KEYWORDS: anxiety - psychological well-being - university students.
