ABSTRACT The main objective of this research work was to know the perspective of the community of influence to the social viability of the Michiquillay Mining Project. That helps us determine the social viability of the mining project. In this way, the hypothesis that served as the basis for the present study is the perspective of the local community members of influence to the positive social viability. To achieve the above described, we used as data collection tools: a tool for data collection a faceto-face survey applied in the areas of direct influence and semi-structured interviews for the representatives that are directly related to the Michiquillay mining project, with that we got a perception study line to know the approval position for the viability of the Michiquillay mining project, identifying the perspective of the communities around the social management in the social responsibility for a sustainable development of the indicated Michiquillay Mining Project. The type of research was field, according to its purpose corresponds to the applied; it worked a level of descriptive research. The design of the research was determined as No Experimental - Transversal from a mixed approach. It was possible to conclude that the mining project is partially viable for the local community members of Michiquillay, the results confirm that 61% of the inhabitants of the community approve the social viability of the Michiquillay mining Project, because, they see through the mining investment, an economic development in the community of influence generating a sustainable development, which will help to improve the quality of life of the local community members; while 39% reject it, disinformation being the main factor of social conflicts in the mining sector.
