Countless disasters occur throughout the world because of the lack of planning and prevention in the face of natural phenomena, which cause considerable material and human losses. One of the current deficiencies is in the sanitation sector. Therefore, the methodology of the National Center for Estimation, Prevention and Reduction of Disaster Risk (CENEPRED) was used in the present research to determine the seismic risk level of the sewerage network of the urban quadrant in the district of Breña. In accordance with this methodology, a vulnerability and hazard analysis were carried out, as well as a risk analysis whose levels were: low, medium, high and very high. The results show that 40.16 % of collectors are at very high risk, 51.04% are at high risk and 8.80 % are at medium risk. According to scientific institutions reports, the central zone of Peru has a seismic lagoon without releasing energy, so that, if the projected scenario occurs, it is estimated that 74% of the sewerage service will be lost or broken, with a probable economic loss of more than 256 million soles.
