ABSTRACT This thesis is developed with the objective of improving of route design for solid waste collection in the city of Cajabamba, and aims to reduce costs in the category of Public Maintenance in the Provincial Government of Cajabamba, which is responsible for providing this service. The proposed project is intended as a means to save on the costs of this service from the point of view of optimization or improvement and applying Cost/Effect strategies. The aforementioned investigation has been undertaken using the current collection routes for solid waste collection as reference data, the Office of Community Services for the Provincial Government of Cajabamba provided the statistical data. For the study certain routes were selected, critical points of functionality were identified, information was gathered to be processed and , and through this data collection opportunities for improvement were discovered in the new solid waste collection routes. This improvement will produce a higher quality service, boost customer satisfaction, and reduce the cost of the solid waste collection service.
