This research has been made in an interprovincial transport company, and arose based on the need to improve the management of information, which involves the analysis, collection and processing of data that will finally be converted into information shown as reports and dashboards, which support decision-making in the ticket sales process; therefore, the present work arises to implement a business intelligence model. Consequently, a model based on good project management practices and an agile framework is planned, which aim to give order when working with existing data sources, as well as the users involved. It started with the situational analysis of the information to later implement the business intelligence model which would work in conjunction with the Power BI tool to generate charts, reports and dashboards for decision making. After applying the model, the analysis of the improvement level in decision making was carried out through four indicators, which were measured before and after the implementation of the model; These are: average time of the informational process, reliability level, effectiveness level and utility level. Subsequently, the results collected were statistically validated, obtaining a reduction of 99.50% in the average time of the informational process, an increase of 39.45% in the reliability level, an increase of 66.03% in the effectiveness level and an increase of 60.95% in the utility level. Finally, the validation of the model was carried out by means of two indicators; the first one made and contrasted for the indicator “Level of approval“, and the second made and contrasted by three professionals in the field, achieving in both indicators the results of “Very good”, thus demonstrating that the implementation of the business intelligence model supports decision-making in the ticket sales process.
