Resumen: La investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar el nivel de habilidades sociales en estudiantes de secundaria de una Institución Educativa de Lima. La muestra está compuesta por 104 estudiantes del 1° y 2° del nivel secundario de esta institución. El estudio corresponde al tipo cuantitativo de metodología descriptiva no experimental, de corte transversal, que comprende el análisis e interpretación del nivel de habilidades sociales en función a la teoría de Gismero (2000) mediante la Escala de Habilidades Sociales. Los datos fueron recolectados con una escala de 33 ítems estructurados según la propuesta de Gismero (2010). Los resultados conseguidos en este estudio muestran que los niveles de dichas habilidades en los estudiantes fueron bajos (48.1%). Sin embargo, los resultados por dimensiones fueron algo dispersos: autoexpresión en situaciones sociales (38.5%, alto), defensa de los derechos propios como consumidor (41.3%, medio); expresión de enojo o disconformidad (37.5%, bajo) decir no y cortar interacciones (38.5%, medio), hacer peticiones (46.2%, bajo), iniciar interacciones positivas con el sexo opuesto (50.0%, bajo). En conclusión, predominó las habilidades sociales de nivel bajo, seguido del medio y alto; en las dimensiones predominaron los niveles bajo y medio, a excepción de autoexpresión en situaciones sociales que tuvo un nivel alto.
The objective of the research was to determine the level of social skills in high school students of an Educational Institution in Lima, 2021. The sample is made up of 104 students from the 1st and 2nd grade of the secondary level of this institution. The study corresponds to the quantitative type of non-experimental, cross-sectional descriptive methodology, which includes the analysis and interpretation of the level of social skills based on the theory of Gismero (2000) through the Social Skills Scale. The data was collected with a scale of 33 items structured according to the proposal of Gismero (2010). The results obtained in this study show that the levels of these skills in the students were low (48.1%). However, the results by dimensions were somewhat scattered: self-expression in social situations (38.5%, high), defense of one's own rights as a consumer (41.3%, medium); expressing anger or disagreement (37.5%, low) saying no and cutting off interactions (38.5%, medium), making requests (46.2%, low), initiating positive interactions with the opposite sex (50.0%, low). In conclusion, low-level social skills predominated, followed by medium and high; Low and medium levels predominated in the dimensions, with the exception of self-expression in social situations that had a high level.
