This study aimed to identify factors related to the use of contraceptive methods in Obstetrics students, using a quantitative correlational methodology. Results showed that 19.67% chose condoms, 22.13% preferred contraceptive pills, 21.31% used monthly injections, 18.03% opted for quarterly injections, 8.20% used copper intrauterine devices, and 10.66% chose subdermal implants. Multinomial regression analysis revealed that age significantly influenced the choice of contraceptive pills (p=0.35) but did not impact other methods. Menstrual influence was not significant in method choice. The number of children did not affect contraceptive choice. Body mass index (BMI) significantly predicted the choice of quarterly injections (p=0.004). The presence of side effects had a negative and significant impact on all contraceptive methods (all p <0.05). Regarding contraceptive use duration, only pills were affected (p=0.009), while for other methods, duration did not influence choice. In conclusion, factors such as age, BMI, contraceptive use duration, and primarily side effects were associated with contraceptive method choice.
