Formerly Hualgayoc, like many districts of the Cajamarca region, has been characterized for building with soil, either materials such as adobe or mud, these materials are used mainly for its low cost and the ease in getting them. Today, many buildings in districts still persevere, housing many families. However, many times the construction process is not adequate, lacking structural elements or protection of housing, due to this, the need to investigate and expand is generated. the knowledge in said subject to achieve to conserve or to extend the useful life of said houses; a main aspect is the preservation before seismic forces, which are of great impact and destructive in constructions of this class of materials. For this reason, the following research has the objective of determining and analyzing the seismic vulnerability of tapial dwellings. The first stage of the study included the collection of data through architectural surveys and report cards that according to a ponderative score determine the current state of conservation; the second stage includes data analysis, based on the parameters of wall density, current state of the houses and instability of walls to overturn with an incidence of 60%, 30% and 10% respectively, finally with the data obtained determines the seismic vulnerability of the tapial dwellings of the district of Hualgayoc, obtaining as a result a high seismic vulnerability, so that before considerable earthquake these buildings would suffer great damages with a possible collapse of the same, putting in risk the life of the settlers of area.
