This research evaluated the relationship between the noise generated by vehicular traffic and the perception of its effects on the population health of San Andrés I stage urbanization, in the city of Trujillo. This is an applied study with a non-experimental design of quantitative approach and correlational scope. Noise measurements were taken at seven points of high vehicular congestion, during five days and in three shifts (morning, midday, and afternoon), corresponding to daytime hours, using a Type I sound level meter, in A-weighting and Fast response time, where the average results range between 68.94 dB (A) and 74.09 dB (A), exceeding the ECA - Noise (RM N° 085-2003 PCM) for residential areas, which is 60 dB (A). Regarding the perception of the effects on the population health, a survey was applied to 35 people residing in areas surrounding the monitoring points for at least three years. Finally, a Pearson correlation test was performed to determine the relationship between both variables, concluding that there is no relationship between vehicular noise and the perception of the health effects of the population of the San Andrés I stage urbanization of the city of Trujillo, during daytime.
