ABSTRACT Some time ago Cajamarca has been involved in cities flood hazard, usually not avenues but by the amount of rain or precipitation that is in the months of December to March, if there were no El Niño. Some authors mention that damage and losses caused by floods are inequality and poverty in our midst, because they do not have adequate structures to respond to extreme climates. By 2016 Cajamarca is listed as the first region of Peru in poverty rate in the range of 15.1% to 23.3% as a percentage of reliability at 95% according to the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática, and according to research conducted throughout the region is said that 3.22% are flooding according to the book of Riesgo geológico en Cajamarca. This thesis can provide flood maps of the gorge Cruz Blanca city of Cajamarca, allowing determine the behavior of the maximum flood and potential areas of flooding to occur, allowing to find a relationship between the variables for possible projects different return times. For this processes three phases is described as are the phase social evaluation phase obtaining morphological parameters, and finally the phase modulation data which will use the HEC - RAS (Hydrologic Engineering Center - River Analysis System), it is essential to make use of different formats, which were necessary to obtain results. The research of this thesis is a descriptive nonexperimental applied research. The investigation came to provide themselves with the flood maps for Cajamarca Gulch Cruz Blanca for return times of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 150 and 200 years in order to find the relationship between the maximum flood and inundation areas, concluding that such a relationship can be graphed by a polynomial function which can determine the increase of both variables.
