Compañía Minera Poderosa, a company dedicated to the exploitation of gold, has been developing expansion projects in the Karola vein; that through its cut at level 1680 it has been making progress; however, the quality of the rock mass with RMR between 31 and 50, and with identified fault systems cause certain delays in the operation. Therefore, the objective of this research is to optimize support with Shotcrete to improve progress at level 1680 cut south, Compañía Minera Poderosa S.A. The research is of the applied type, the approach is quantitative and the design is non-experimental since the independent variable is not manipulated. The predominant rock is diorite, the same that according to the Bieniawski classification has an RMR that varies between 31 and 50, which with geomechanical mapping helped to determine the system of important faults in the advance of the southern cut. It is concluded that the optimization of the support with Shotcrete via humidity allowed to improve the advance of the level 1680 cut south, being reflected in the programmed advance versus the one executed by 105% in the last 6 months, in the same way it allowed to reduce the costs of S/ 1600 to S/ 1116.6.
