The investigation carried out was oriented towards the objective of determining the effect of adding lime to the natural subgrade in the design of rigid pavements in a district of northern Peru, considering the need to experiment with soil stabilization processes to guarantee its optimal performance. with subgrades in the pavements; for which an experimental methodology was used with the use of three pits that allowed the characterization of the soil on the road under study, obtaining as results that the roads studied, have a moderate vehicular flow; the soils are characterized by textures, silty sand with gravel, poorly graded sand with silt and gravel, and clayey gravel with sand; obtaining an average CBR of 13% at 95% MDS and with the addition of 5% lime, it reaches averages of 20.73% CBR at 95% MDS; with which a rigid pavement of a concrete slab of f'c=280 kg/cm2, with a thickness of 0.20 m and a granular sub-base with a thickness equal to 0.15 m, compacted to 100% MDS; concluding that the addition of lime to the natural soil improves the quality conditions in the subgrade for the design of rigid pavements in the study area.
